There are very few moments in a detailer’s career that genuinely stop you in your tracks — and the arrival of a Ferrari at Crystal Car Care is undeniably one of them. Ferrari has been crafting some of the world’s most celebrated performance cars for over seven decades, and every vehicle that leaves the factory in Maranello carries with it an almost mythological status. From the legendary V12s of the sixties to the turbocharged supercars of today, every Ferrari is a statement — a declaration of passion, performance, and an uncompromising pursuit of driving excellence. The owner of this stunning example clearly understands the responsibility that comes with owning a machine of this stature, and we were honoured to be trusted with its care.

This Ferrari was booked in for our Premium Wash Package — a meticulous, hands-on cleaning service that is perfectly suited to high-end and exotic vehicles where protecting the paintwork is of the utmost importance. There is no room for shortcuts when cleaning a car of this value and prestige, and every step of our process is carried out with the level of care and attention that a Ferrari demands and deserves.

The process began with a thorough rinse of the vehicle to remove any loose dirt and debris, paying particular attention to the lower body panels, side skirts, and diffuser, which are particularly exposed to road contamination. A generous layer of pH-neutral snowfoam was then applied to the entire vehicle and left to dwell, safely breaking down and suspending contamination before it could cause any harm during the contact wash stage. The foam was rinsed away thoroughly before our detailer proceeded to the hand wash stage.

Using the two-bucket method with premium pH-neutral shampoo and ultra-soft lambswool wash mitts, every panel of the Ferrari was carefully cleaned, starting from the roof and working methodically downwards to avoid cross-contamination. The bodywork, bumpers, splitters, side skirts, and rear diffuser were all given thorough individual attention. The wheels — being a particularly critical area on a car of this type — were cleaned using dedicated wheel brushes and a powerful yet safe wheel cleaner, removing brake dust and road grime to leave them looking pristine. Tyres were cleaned and dressed for a deep, rich finish, and all wheel arches were cleaned out thoroughly.

Following the wash, the vehicle was carefully rinsed and then dried using soft, clean plush microfibre drying towels, ensuring no water spots were left on the bodywork. All exterior glass was treated with a specialist glass cleaner for crystal-clear visibility, and all exterior trim and plastics were dressed to a factory-fresh finish. A final inspection was carried out under our lighting to ensure every inch of the car met our exacting standards before the owner was invited to collect.

The result was a Ferrari looking every bit as sensational as it should — clean, gleaming, and absolutely worthy of its place in the automotive pantheon. It was a true privilege to work on such an iconic machine, and a reminder of exactly why we do what we do.
